BRIEF HISTORY OF RIVER OAKS PROPERTY OWNER, INC.

Founded in 1955, River Oaks Property Owners, Inc.(ROPO) is a non-profit Texas
corporation whose membership is comprised of all River Oaks property owners.
ROPO is governed by an elected volunteer board of directors, each of whom
serves a three year term. This group of River Oaks residents, "The Board" works
with the full-time staff of ROPO to provide the high standard of service which River
Oaks residents enjoy and to maintain the quality and integrity of the neighborhood.
All ROPO services are provided for by the annual residents' maintenance assessment.

The principal functions of ROPO are to review and enforce residential building restric-
tions, arrange for trash collection, maintain the River Oaks Security Patrol, and care
for River Oaks' parks and esplanades. In addition, residents may receive assistance
from the ROPO staff regarding questions on property appraisal values.

River Oaks has the reputation as Houston's finest neighborhood because of the beauty
of the area, its homes, and the outstanding quality of life. ROPO is always at work to
maintain those standards.
