ROPO
provides garbage and trash pickup to residents of River Oaks through a private contractor.
This service includes:
Garbage
All household garbage will be picked up from the
back door twice a week. All garbage must be
placed in bags and/or containers (no heavier than 35 pounds). Please be sure all garbage
containers are tightly covered or fastened.
Trash
is defined as anything other than household garbage. Grass and leaves must be in
bags strong enough to be picked up by the top and not over 35 pounds. Newspapers and
magazines should be securely tied and not exceed 35 pounds. Normal tree limbs and branches
shall be securely tied in bundles with lengths not exceeding four feet and weighing no
more than 35 pounds. Trash and bags, totaling no mere than six bags, will be picked up at
the same location as garbage. Trash in excess of six bags or bundles should be deposited
on the curb no sooner than the evening before collection date. Please do not leave bags
and bundles at the curb site over the weekend.
The Contractor cannot pick up tires, construction debris, hazardous materials (i.e., paint
containers, oil containers, gas tanks, aerosol cans, or any other container containing any
type of pesticide). Additionally, they cannot pick up any appliance or equipment such as
refrigerators and air conditioning equipment that contain refrigerants.

*West of River Oaks Blvd. - Monday and Thursday
*East of River Oaks Blvd. -Tuesday and Friday
The ROPO staff will furnish you with special pickup information for large items or
quantities.
If the garbage or trash collection service is not satisfactory, please call the ROPO staff
at 622-0001 the same day if possible.
